This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform, which leverages the Stellar blockchain network and Soroban smart contracts alongside traditional mobile money integrations like Safaricom's M-Pesa.

2. Information We Collect

As a decentralized platform, we minimize off-chain data collection. However, certain operations require processing personal and technical information:

  • Public Blockchain Data: Your Stellar wallet public key (address), transaction signatures, wagers, share balances, and trade records.
  • Authentication & Account Data: Stellar wallet public address and session data to provision and secure your platform login.
  • Fiat Gateway Data: Mobile phone numbers, transaction reference codes, and transaction names captured during KES (Kenyan Shillings) deposits and withdrawals via Safaricom M-Pesa.
  • Usage & Technical Data: IP addresses, browser types, device identifiers, and interaction history to monitor platform performance and prevent Sybil or DDoS attacks.

3. Public Ledger Immutability

Important Notice on Blockchain Data

Transactions submitted to the Stellar network are permanent and immutable. Any wagers placed, market positions taken, and smart contract wagers executed cannot be deleted, modified, or redacted by Soko Mvumo. These activities are publicly visible to anyone via Stellar block explorers and public ledger history.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To facilitate prediction market participation and reward payouts.
  • To process mobile money deposits and authorize USDC conversions via the Treasury system.
  • To authenticate users and secure account access.
  • To resolve disputes regarding wagers or M-Pesa callbacks.
  • To comply with regulatory obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the platform:

  • Safaricom M-Pesa API: To send STK push notifications for deposits and process KES payments.
  • Stellar Validators: Public ledger nodes that process and store transaction blocks.

6. Off-Chain Data Retention & Security

We implement administrative and technical security measures (including TLS encryption, database access controls, and secure environment vaults) to protect off-chain data (such as emails and M-Pesa transaction maps). Off-chain data is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill service delivery, resolve transactions, or comply with local financial records laws.
